The truth: Life of a graduate

For once I wanted to do a more personal post then I ever have before, as I'm sure this is an issue that alot of you are also going through.

My take on life as a
depressive & unemployed
graduate

So, as you may or may not know, I graduate university in July with a 2:1 in Fashion Promotion. As an optimistic person I had a great attitude and was really looking forward to starting my new life as not only a graduate but also an adult. Oh how naive I was. 4 months on, I feel like I have achieved nothing, having spent my summer interning & spending £169 a week on commuting to London to work for free, I decided it was time to throw in the towel and try plan b. Applying for jobs and sending off my CV & covering letter has become a daily activity for me along with refreshing my email account every 5 seconds. Every graduates worst nightmare is hearing the very common phrase "We loved you at interview but there was another candidate with more experience". WHAT DO THEY WANT: I have found myself screaming on many occasions.

The fashion industry is renowned for being the hardest industry for graduates to break into, but, seriously this is ridiculous. Unless you live in London or are completely minted/have mum & dad to pay for commuting, interning is just out of the question. I really really don't want to give up on my dream and everything I have worked so hard for. But it really is getting far to hard. The constant rejection is killing me, and I have never felt this way before.

To end on a happy note, tomorrow I'm off to an interview for a job I don't even know what it for!!! FML
